Who am I
Outside of work I'm usually at the gym, or deep into a game of Warhammer 30k. There's a fluffy family dog I don't see that often, and I love seeing him when I do. I'm almost always the tallest person in the room. My interests are all over the place, so if we share any, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
I've trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for five years, usually three times a week, and martial arts in some form since 2007. I'm a BJJ purple belt, with a black belt in Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and a green in Judo from the years before. Showing up consistently matters more than any single good round, and the mat has a way of reminding you of that pretty quickly.
Mention a gym ache and I'll probably try to diagnose it. Five years in, I've got the confidence of an amateur physical therapist and none of the qualifications.
Travel
I like arriving somewhere unfamiliar without a fixed plan and seeing what happens. The last trip was Lisbon: steep streets at golden hour, a day in Sintra, and a look over the city at dusk. Riga was the one before that. Back home, a good day out is a coastal or forest walk, or an evening at the IMAX.
